歴代のジャズピアニストのモノマネ動画で器用な演奏を披露しているのがKris Bowers。
先日彼のアルバム『Heroes + Misfits』を聴いたのですが良かったですね。
古いジャズばかり聴いていたので新鮮に感じただけでなく単純に聴きやすい。
今時のジャズもボチボチ聴き始めています。
ロバート・グラスパーとか。
昨年末から50、60年代のハードバップばかり聞き漁っていましたがやや食傷気味。
特に思い入れを持てるジャズマンも居ないし、お勉強のスタンスになってしまっているのかも。
とはいえ急激にジャズの知識が頭に入ってきた割には消化不良になることもなく、今はほぼ違和感なくほとんどのジャズが聴けるようになったのではないかと。
ジョン・コルトレーンやオーネット・コールマンなんて以前の僕だったら無理でしたけどね。解らなくて。
まだまだヨチヨチ歩きですが好奇心を頼りに音源集めを続けたい。
できるだけ低コストで。
本日の獲物。
スティーリーダン(ドナルド・フェイゲン)もジョニ・ミッチェルも子供の頃良く聴いていたアーチスト。
ジョニのアルバム『The Hissing of Summer Lawns』が大好物でね。
ヘビーローテーションしてましたよ。
当時は当たり前のようにロックカテゴリーとして聴いていましたが、今改めてジャズの側面から聴いてみると違った印象を持ちます。
